MY METHOD OF DRAWING PORTRAITS
Follow these easy steps to commission a portrait:
1. Find or take photo(s) of the subject(s). (See below for hints on choosing good photos.)
2. Email the photo(s), at the highest resolution possible ("Actual Size" or "Original Size"), along with a description of your desires, purpose & any vision you have for your portrait to [email protected] (If you click on my Contact page, you can email me, but won't be able to attach & send photos from that page.)
3. When I receive your email, I will contact you to discuss the details, and give you a no-obligation quote.
4. After we agree to proceed and you submit a 50% non-refundable down payment, I will begin creating your portrait.
5. I will email you a proof copy to approve before the portrait is finalized. Once any requested changes are made and approved, I will prepare your portrait for printing.
6. Upon receipt of your 50% balance payment, I will print and mail your portrait to you.
I invest many hours into drawing a portrait, meticulously capturing the details necessary to accurately portray the subject's true likeness, and bringing the portrait to life. Each portrait is unique, so your investment will depend upon several different factors such as:
• Number of subjects
• Pose (head & shoulders, 3/4 length or full-length)
• Style (black & white or color)
• Complexity of clothing, background and any other objects (patterns, lace, scenery, etc.)
• Size
• Quality of the photos
• Any extra research required
Once I have seen your photos and we have finalized your choices, I will give you a no-obligation quote.
The price will include one archival print on fine art paper. I will be happy to provide you quotes for framing and other display choices, or you may opt to get your print framed yourself. You may also order extra prints from me, or purchase the full-resolution digital file so that you can get extra prints made yourself. (NOTE: I retain the copyright to the image, including the right to use it for advertising purposes. You may make copies for personal use or gifts, but cannot sell or use the image for profit without express written permission from me.)
Payments may be made by Venmo, Zelle, PayPal or credit card.
Currently, my primary role of full-time caregiver for my precious husband who is disabled & bedridden, means my time to work on art is limited. It usually takes from several weeks to a few months for me to complete a portrait, depending on the complexity. But I believe the results will be worth your wait! I will draw portraits in the order that I receive a finalized commission agreement and down payment.
When you are ready to finalize your commission with a 50% deposit, I will give you an estimated time frame when I expect to finish your portrait. I will do my best to complete it by that time. However, since care-giving often means circumstances out of my control will require my time and attention, AT THE PRESENT TIME I CANNOT GUARANTEE IT WILL BE DONE BY A SPECIFIC DATE. If you wish to give your portrait as a gift for a special event, I CAN SEND YOU A CUSTOMIZED GIFT CARD for the recipient, announcing your thoughtful gift that will arrive at a later date, if the portrait cannot be completed in time.
I will only accept a maximum of 3-4 portrait commissions at a time so that I am not booked out too far into the future. If I am fully booked when you contact me, you can request to be put on a waiting list and I will contact you when I am available to take more commissions.
